Born and raised in Vancouver, Rita moved to Toronto in 1991 to study at the esteemed Sutherland-Chan College of Massage Therapy. After graduating from their 2-year intensive program, she began her journey in the world of healing arts.  Now, seventeen years later, Rita is extremely pleased to bring her diverse skills, experience and passion for healing to the team at Saraswati.

Rita’s approach is uniquely attuned to each client. Her treatment methods include Jin Shin Do acupressure release, traditional Swedish massage methods, cranial sacral, hot stone massage and lymphatic system-aromatherapy techniques.  The deeply intuitive and caring energy Rita brings to her work can only be described as transformative.

Additionally, her passion for learning and a genuine interest in the health concerns of an aging population have inspired Rita to engage in both Gerontology studies at Ryerson University and certification in senior-focused fitness training strategies.

Rita balances her professional life with gardening, teaching NIA-based dance, a love of cooking and spending quiet time with her family and pets in Prince Edward County.
